President Barzani Receives Philippine Ambassador to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received Ambassador Charlie P. Manangan, Ambassador of the Philippines to Iraq, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Pirmam.

Visiting in his capacity as a representative of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Ambassador Manangan expressed his pleasure at meeting President Barzani and his appreciation for the struggles and sacrifices of the people of Kurdistan. He outlined ASEAN’s history, approach to international relations, and economic potential, and conveyed the association’s desire to strengthen ties with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

President Barzani welcomed the Ambassador and praised the efforts of Southeast Asian nations to achieve freedom, development, and economic prosperity.

The two sides also exchanged views on the threats terrorism poses to regional and global security.
