Happy Birthday to King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom.

This evening, we attended a celebration of His Majesty King Charles III’s birthday in Erbil. British Ambassador to Iraq Irfan Siddiq, British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region Holly Var, and Head of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations Safeen Dizayee delivered remarks.

Ambassador Siddiq emphasized the importance of strengthening relations and said that, following the completion of the Coalition’s mission against ISIS, the UK would work to enhance the Kurdistan Region’s air defenses against drones and missiles.

King Charles III was born on November 14, 1948. While he marks his birthday privately in November, his official birthday is celebrated in June, when the weather is generally better suited to public festivities.

In places where June is particularly hot, such as the Kurdistan Region, the celebration may be held on another date when the weather is more suitable.
